More Than a Game

Help Support First Tee — Triangle’s Kids!

Five years ago, we had a dream. We wanted to build a new home for our First Tee — Triangle participants, a safe place where our kids could study, learn about leadership, make new friends and develop the life skills that come from playing the game of golf. Skills such as confidence, integrity, respect, and etiquette.

That dream is now becoming a reality! On December 5th, 2022, we broke ground on Phase 1 of our new facility located at 12201 Leesville Road in Northwest Raleigh. Watch our video to learn more.

More Than a Game Capital Campaign

The Community Need

First Tee — Triangle currently serves over 1,600 kids annually.

More than 50% come from diverse backgrounds

40% are female

36% come from low to moderate income families

Our goal is to make the game of golf accessible to all while teaching character development and skills that will last a lifetime.

Independent research shows that kids who participate in our program use life skills they learn on and off the course and transfer them to school. More than 75% of participants surveyed say First Tee has helped them with decision making, goal setting and managing their emotions. After participating in First Tee for three years, 73% say they have higher confidence in their academic ability and more confidence interacting with their peers.

Our new Learning Center, in its central location, will allow us to serve an additional 1,000 children each year with a stronger presence throughout the Triangle. It will also enable us to grow our diversity and inclusion efforts through partnerships with Title I schools in Wake and Durham counties. Having a home will give us the opportunity to offer our kids healthy snacks, tutoring and mentoring, and a safe place to call their own.

Our Ask of You

So far, we have raised $6.5 million of our $7.5 million Capital Campaign goal. But to make this dream a reality, we need your help! Our goal is to engage more of our community to help bring our vision to life. This will allow us to build our Learning Center, driving range, putting green and a par three golf course.

To say thank you, each donor who makes a gift of $300 or more will be entered into a drawing for:

One of three, one-year access passes to our new facility, which includes use of our new driving range and putting green, use of the on-site golf simulators, a discount at our Pro Shop AND a foursome at the Country Club of North Carolina.

All donors be recognized on special signage at the Learning Center and on our website.

Naming Opportunities & Patron Benefits

In order for First Tee — Triangle to positively impact young people, it takes coaches, staff, board members and donors being actively engaged in our mission and invested in our outcomes. Each has a vital role in our success and without your support, we will fail to achieve our goals.
